Canon launches 85 products in India

With Diwali round the corner, the fireworks have already begun at Canon India. The company has gone for a pre-Diwali launch of as many as 85 new digital imaging products in a bid to woo its customers during the festival season.

Among the wide range of products that have been rolled out just in time for the festival of lights are digital cameras, digital video camcorders, printers, all-in-ones, digital copiers, software applications, cable ID printers and card printers. Many more complete the list. The roll out of such a big number of products at one go may be termed as unique. Canon meanwhile has said that the highlight of the launch is the introduction of 10 new technology first’s. The new products have been bracketed in three divisions, said the company.

The new technology forays have come with the unveiling of the D-SLR with High Definition Video,  Digic IV Photo Processor, Internet Protocol version – 6 ready devices, Auto Photo Fix and the like. Canon has unveiled these products across its three divisions. While as many as 22 new ke it big with the unique products form part of Canon’s Imaging Communication Products (ICP), 28 products are par of the Consumer Systems Product (CSP), and 30 products and six solutions from the Business Imaging Solutions (BIS) division, Canon has said.

Positioned against the Nikon D9, the Canon D-SLR with High Definition Video brings in the EOS 5D Mark II that enables still photography even while shooting movies. The feature has been incorporated in such a way that it also has a live view function setting. Meanwhile, the Digic IV Photo Processor has all in it to be the fastest processor for Canon Digital Cameras.

The Auto Photo Fix technology aims at correction of still images while printing. These apart, the Cabe ID printer and card printer are two areas the company has made a foray into while lining up the 85 products launch. Meanwhile the card printers offers superior technologies for the production of drivers licenses, employee badges, government and college ID cards, prepaid phone cards, IC chip cards, and other identification cards and badges. Canon hopes to generate a strong interest among customers during the Diwali season.
