The 3G war has well and truly begun in India! Close on the heels of Tata DoCoMo, Vodafone Essar and Bharti Airtel announcing their individual plans to roll out 3G services in the country, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has once again slashed the price of its 3G Unlimited Data Plan – this time by up to 50%.

Under its new offering, BSNL will introduce unlimited 3G data plan at just Rs. 700 per month. Wow – a real Diwali offer for cell phone enthusiasts this festive season!

The state-owned telecoms company has also introduced new 3G schemes for its customers. The revised schemes include unlimited prepaid/postpaid, advance rental/payment plans and unlimited free data download. Above all, BSNL also plans to reduce the prices for its 3G data cards. The best deal BSNL has introduced is the free unlimited 3G data downloads for 7 days. Under this scheme, customers get unlimited access to broadband Internet at up to 7.2 Mbps absolutely free for 7 days from the date of activation.

Plus, BSNL has launched three new 3G Data plans for its subscribers. One is a Rs. 4,200 plan that comes with the validity of 180 days. Under this scheme, the post-paid customer gets unlimited free High Speed wireless Broadband 24×7 Home and Roam circle anywhere in India. For pre-paid users, they can get a coupon recharge with Rs. 4,200 with validity of 6 months.

The other two plans include the new Data Plan-2500 that comes with the validity 90 days and Plan 2000 that offers Unlimited 3G for 60 days. BSNL will provide all the above three new plans to its prepaid and postpaid new connections from 1st of November, 2010.

The most attractive scheme, we believe, is the unlimited free 3G offer for 7 days. BSNL will offer this scheme to all its prospective 3G Data Card subscribers. Interestingly, this scheme is in addition to the existing freebie of 200MB of free data. This means that after completion of 7 days, the 200MB of free data gets credited into the subscriber’s account.

Last month, we saw BSNL decrease the unlimited monthly rental from Rs. 2,499/month to Rs. 1,499. And now, by almost halving the prices, BSNL will surely bring smiles to many 3G subscribers.

@karthik no dude only private operators do that thing. I think bsnl is best 3g INTERNET service provide in India. i m using bsnl 4200 plan. i m getting 3.1Mbps. there is difference in Mbps and MBps small “b” denotes bit which smaller than byte so if your downloaders shows 400-500KBps it means you are getting 3.1 Mbps speed. and India only Bsnl is providing constant speed. where as private operator 1st they provide 2 Mbps speed upto some GB it may 4 or 5 gb and after they decrease speed to 256KBps.
so please switch to BSNL and 1st check out there plans. I think they had closed 4200 plan.
