Bethesda to launch Oblivion: Game
of the Year Edition
11 July, 2007
Bethesda Software has announced their
new Oblivion: Game of the Year
Edition. Oblivion is a massive
single-player game earning a 9/10 in
Xboxic’s
review.
Not only does the single-player game
offer hundreds of hours of questing
fun, but it also offers content
additions. With the previous
generation games once you completed
the main game and its side quests, you
had nothing more to do. But Bethseda
has tackled this problem by releasing
additional packs of content even after
you have completed their main game.
New content was released in regular
intervals to make the game look still
young. But, while the Knights of the
Nine expansion was included on their
Blu-Ray disc with the release of
PlayStation 3, Shivering Isles--the
other expansion--has yet to be
released.
But this is not the case with
Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition.
All of the released expansions,
including the Knights of the Nine and
Shivering Isles, will be available
from the word go. Oblivion: Game of
the Year Edition is priced at USD
49.99 and will be released in
September 2007.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of
the Year Edition will contain two
previously released expansions, for
the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the
PC. The special edition of the
Oblivion game will mark the first time
the content will be available on
PlayStation 3. The Elder Scrolls IV:
Oblivion Game of the Year Edition will
function exactly the same way as its
predecessors, which allows you to
continue any existing games of
Oblivion while experiencing the
package's new content.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has
proved to be a successful product for
Bethesda Software, with the company
saying that after its release in March
2006 for Xbox 360 and Windows,
Oblivion sold more than three million
copies in 2006.
