Avatar, which has already become a huge box office hit around the globe says the story of people from Earth trying to invade a colony on another planet called Pandora. In the movie, it is obvious that the characters of Neytiri and Jake Sully make love, but things move on quickly from a deep kiss to a sleeping couple.

Actress Zoe Saldana essayed the character of Neytiri, the heroine, in the movie. According to Saldana, the sex scene was shot for the movie initially, but the filmmakers decided to delete it from the movie later on. Zoe Saldana acted in the movie Star Trek before Avatar.

According to a web site which cited comments from Saldana, filming the scene was really weird since both the characters were loaded with technical paraphernalia.

Saldana said, “It was a very funny scene to shoot because there were so many technical things that sometimes you had to keep in mind. Paying attention to all those might disrupt the fluidity of how a scene is supposed to take place.”

The scene did not make the cut since film director James Cameron wanted his film to have a PG13 rating.

Avatar movie is widely believed to have kickstarted the 3D movie genre once again, with the movie being available in both RealD 3D and iMax 3D versions.
