The mysterious Apple tablet will be out by the end of next week. Though no one has a clue what it is or what it looks like, the Apple event will surely be having a major impact on the company as well as its rivals on the electronics consumer space.
Apple has very few failures in its recent history; and touchscreens are all the rage currently. The Apple Tablet has been widely anticipated, with rumours and leaked info circulating like wildfire in the Apple community.
The most interesting question worrying the observers is which wireless carrier will offer the Apple tablet. The iSlate or iPad, whatever it is, will definitely have 3G wireless internet access, and that means carriers have to be involved. Apple currently offers the iPhone only on AT&T – whose service has been widely panned. Though there are absolutely no confirmed reports regarding the same, internet columns are saying that Apple has not finalised the wireless carrier that would carry its Apple tablet.
Rumour is that Apple did not get much time to finalise the details of the deal between the wireless carrier and the company. Most likely, when Apple announces its tablet next week at the Apple event, the company will announce the tablet without the name of the carrier.
Sources at Verizon and At&T say both companies would offer the Apple tablet. According to one version of the rumour, one version of the Apple tablet would support CDMA networks such as Verizon’s, and one will operate on GSM networks like that owned by AT&T.
If Apple launches the devide without a major carrier, then it will be first time such a thing happens. Observers are saying it could happen, but for such a thing to happen and for such a company like Apple, it seems very difficult though.
Apple has also been rumoured to be involved in discussions with publishing houses about offering their content on the upcoming tablet.
