ADOBE FLASH VIDEO CONTROL

Adobe launches Flash media software for free

17 May, 2007

Adobe has launched a free version of its Flash media software, which allows copyright users to embed advertisements and control usage. This new software, called the Adobe Flash video control, also lets users play videos offline, either on a computer or other portable devices.

Adobe Flash media software is expected to pose a serious threat to SilverLight, the competing online media platform from Microsoft. This new software from Adobe also comes with copyright protection.

Its no big secret that Microsoft had been trying to enter the online video dominance of Adobe and has already signed up with Netflix and Major League Baseball.

Flash, which was bought by Adobe had been the dominant player in the online video sector for a long time and was used by Google-owned video sharing websites such as YouTube.

As with other Adobe software such as Acrobat Reader and Flash Player, the new Adobe Flash media software will too be available as free. This software will also be available for both Windows PCs and Apple's Macintosh computers, just like SilverLight.
