Acer has launched a new version of the Acer Liquid, the Acer Liquid e smartphone, at the World Mobile Congress 2010.The Acer Liquid e smartphone has a 3.5-inch high-definition capacitive touch screen that supports five home screens that allows users to take adavantage of various apps and widgets.
The phone measures 115 x 64 x 12.7 mm and weighs 135 grams. It has four navigation buttons, Home, Search, Back, and Menu.
It comes with a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording capability at 20 fps.
The phone is powered by the high-speed 8250 768 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs the Android 2.1 operating system. It offers an upgraded version of the Android browser that supports HTML5 and offers double-tap zooming, video tagging support and geo-location support, Acer said in a press statement.
The Acer Liquid e smartphone comes with a Quick Contacts feature that allows users to toggle between their contact lists and SNS apps.
It offers integrated YouTube, FM Radio, RollTech nemoPlayer.
Connectivity specs include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, GPS and A-GPS, MiniUSB, MicroSD slot, and 3.5-mm jack. The phone is equipped with Google Maps, Google Latitude, Street View, and Traffic View.
The phone works on GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 (2G) and HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100 (3G).
Other specifications of the Acer Liquid e include accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor, speakerphone, and Pocket Office that consists of Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and PDF viewer.
The battery of the Acer Liquid e offers Talk time of up to 5 hours and Standby time of up to 400 hours.
Like the Acer Liquid, the Acer Liquid e will be available in three colors, White, Red, and Black.
The company has not revealed when the phone will be available and at what price. Just days ago, Acer launched the Acer Liquid phone in India at a price of Rs 24,900.
