Acer unveiled its first Android device, the Acer Liquid smartphone and an Acer Aspire One netbook, on October 14, 2009.Acer Liquid Android phone

The Acer Liquid Android phone is said to be the first Android phone (running Android version 1.6, earlier known as Donut) to work on 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

The Acer Liquid has a 3.5-inch WVGA display screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with ISO, self-timer options, and accelerated auto focus.

It comes with an integrated GPS receiver, which tags photos with information about where and when the photo was taken.

The Acer Liquid will also sport a new customized user interface. Other features include high speed internet browsing, support for social networking tools, and Spinlets application for free streaming of worldwide music and video, Acer has said.

The phone integrates popular social networking applications, such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Picasa and Flickr, and enables real-time notification of status or content updates.

The Acer Liquid phone will be available in red, white and black colors.

There is no information available about the price and availability of the Acer Liquid, but some reports suggest that the phone may be launched in end-2009 or early 2010.

The Acer Aspire One Android netbook will have a 10.1-inch WSVGA LED display screen and will be powered by an 1.66GHz Intel N280 Atom Processor.

The netbook will run both Android and Microsoft Windows. Users will able to switch easily between the two operating systems.

The Acer Aspire One AOD250-1613netbook measures 8 x 10.2 x 1 inches and weighs 2.8 pounds.

The netbook has 1024MB DDR2 SDRAM and 160GB hard drive.

The Acer Aspire One AOD250-1613 is available for pre-order, on Amazon, for $349.99.
