Acer has launched its first Android phone, the Acer Liquid smartphone, in India at a price of Rs 24,900. The Acer Liquid A1 was unveiled in October 2009 and went on sale in the UK, in December 2009.The Acer Liquid Android phone has a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive display screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and sports the customized Acer 3.0 user interface. The phone has dimensions of 115 x 62.5 x 12.5 mm and weighs 135 gms.
The Acer Liquid Android phone comes with a 5-megapixel camera with ISO, LED flash, geo-tagging, self-timer options, and accelerated auto focus.
The phone has an accelerometer for auto-rotate, proximity sensor, integrated GPS receiver, which tags photos with information about where and when the photo was taken.

The Acer Liquid packs the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 768 MHz processor and comes with 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. Users can expand memory to 32GB using a microSD card.
It runs the Android v1.6 – also knows as Donut – operating system. The phone works on quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband (900/1900/2100) HSDPA networks.
The Acer Liquid Android phone offers support for social networking sites like Twitter and YouTube and integrated Facebook, and Flickr, and Spinlets application for free streaming of worldwide music and video.

The phone also allows users to automatically upload photos to Flickr, videos to Youtube, and sync email, calendar and contacts. Users can make use of the Acer Sync feature to combine the Acer Liquid Liquid with any Windows PC over the same Wi-Fi network.

In terms of connectivity, there is WiFi with specs of 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS support, and USB.
The phone is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1350 mAh battery that offers stand-by time of up to 400 hours and talk time of up to 5 hours.
The Acer Liquid Android phone will be available in White, Red, and Black, and will come with a 2GB microSD card.
