Acer has started selling its first Android smartphone, the Acer Liquid A1, in the UK, from December 8, 2009.The phone will be available via retailers Expansys and Clove for around £339 ($ 540 plus) and £328.99 ($536), respectively, reports say.

The Acer Liquid A1 Android phone has a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It runs Android v 1.6 and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
The phone works on quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband (900/1900/2100) HSDPA networks. The Acer Liquid A1 is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with accelerated autofocus, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, built-in GPS reciever.

The phone offers support for social networking sites like Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr.
Though the Acer Liquid A1 comes in White, Red, and Black, it will available only in White for now.
There is no information available as to when the Acer Liquid A1 will be launched in US or Asian markets and at what price.
