Acer K11 pico projector launched at CeBIT 2010

Acer has announced its compact, new pico projector, the Acer K11 projector, at CeBIT 2010, being held in Hannover, Germany.The ultra-portable Acer K11 measures 122 x 116 mm and weighs just 0.61 kg.

It comes with LED lamp technology that increases the lamp life of the Acer K11 projector to 20,000.  Wit the technology, the projector is said to consumer 30 per cent less energy compared with ordinary bulbs.

The contrast and brightness too is upped to 2000:1 and 200 ANSI Lumens, respectively.

Other specifications of the Acer K11 pico projector include  built-in USB, SDHC card reader, HDMI port, ColorSafe and DLP technology. The pico projector offers both the standard 4:3 and the widescreen 16:9 display formats.

With the SD card reader, videos and photos can be played directly on the projector without connecting to a video player or notebook. It also offers vertical keystone correction of the image up to 40 degrees.

The pico projector features the Acer InstantPack, which allows taking out the power cord right after the projector is turned off, without damaging the projector. The auto-shutdown feature ensures that the projector is switched off after a pre-determined time, if no source is present.

The Acer K11 pico projector will retail at a price of 400 Euro and will be launched in the UK, in May 2010. The pico projector will come with a 2-year warranty.

Apart from the Acer K11 pico projector, Acer has launched many other products at CeBIT 2010.

These include Acer’s high-end gaming PC , the Predator G7750, that comes with an Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processor.

Additions to it Aspire and Travelmate line-up include the Acer Travelmate 6594, 7740 and 5740, and the Aspire One 752 netbook. Also on show is the Acer 8942 and Acer 5942 gaming notebook.
