The company has said that the Acer K10 Pico-project is India’s first pocket projector, and one of the smallest and finest in the market today. The Acer K10 Pico-projector will cost Rs 36,673.

The Acer K10 Pico-projector weighs 0.55 kgs and its dimensions measure 127×122 x 48.5 mm.

Where all the other projectors from Acer are based on the DLP technology, the Acer K10 Pico-projector uses a combination of DLP technology and the LED Lamp Technology. Since an LED would last up to 20000 hours, it virtually cuts off the necessity to replace the lamp.

Acer has said that the LED Lamp technology, unlike older lamps, does not uses toxic substances like Mercury or Halogen and also reduces to power consumption up to 30 per cent.

The auto shutdown feature switches off the Acer K10 Pico-projector after a period set by the user, which helps reduce the electricity consumed. This feature does not require any input signal to be kick started. The Acer K10 Pico-projector is also compatible with the power adapter of the Acer netbooks.

“We are excited to launch this breakthrough offering for the Indian market. We see tremendous potential for the K 10 in the SOHO/Home market and the large SMB market that exists in the country.” said S Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer Acer India.

“As an organization, we are fully-focused on the need to create products that will serve entirely new markets as well as products that will accelerate the growth of existing markets by adding even greater value to entertainment and communication experience.  The  K10  really  stands  out  in  its  category,  and  firmly establishes  Acer  as  a  market leader,” he added.

Projecting an image of 60” diagonal screen, the Acer K10 Pico-projector provides 100 ANSI lumens with a contrast ratio of 2000:1. The smart format technology works fine with wide screen and also with screens with aspect ratio of 4:3. It also has manual and auto keystone correction feature, which is the pointing up and pointing down effect of the projector.

“We’re excited that Acer is launching the 100 lumens pocket projector in India. We are certain that this product will create a new segment for large displays in office and home environment,” said S Ganesh, Business Development Manager (DLP Products), Texas Instruments.

The Acer K10 Pico-projector will come with a 2-year carry-in warranty for the projector and 90 days warranty on the lamp.
