Acer has announced the launch of its brand new netbook, based on Intel’s new Atom N450 processor, the Acer Aspire One 532.Apart from the Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor, the netbook will come with Intel GMA 3150 graphics and a 10.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels in 16:9 format.
Measuring than 25mm in thickness, the Acer Aspire One 532 netbook weighs around 1kg.
The netbooks features a multi-gesture touchpad with an anti-slip micro-bead texture, which the company claims offers more precise control.
An interesting inclusion is that of interchangeable AC converters, for travelers, with a new, light wall-mounted design. The Acer Aspire One 532 comes in a number of colours including blue, silver, red, and black.
The Acer Aspire One 532 netbook runs the Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system.
Other specifications include up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, 250GB HDD, integrated multi-card reader, 0.3-megapixel webcam and Wi-Fi with a 3G modem and Bluetooth offered as options.
The netbook will come with three USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, and audio jacks.
The Acer Aspire One 532 netbook is expected to be available in the US and the UK, in late January 2010, at a price of around 299 Euros ($440), reports say.
Acer has also announced the launch of its new addition to its green Timeline series, the Acer Aspire 3811TZ/TZG netbook.
The company has said that this netbook is made of materials free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and brominated flame retardants (BFRs), excluding the AC power cable.
The company claims that the energy consumption of a Timeline series notebook is 40 per cent less than other regular netbooks.
The Acer Aspire 3811TZ/TZG netbook, which the company says is the recipient of the Energy Star 5.0, is also designed for recycling.
