12.1 MP Nikon Coolpix P90 camera from Nikon is a time-traveler

Nikon has unveiled a bunch of eight digital cameras – and one of them is a time traveler! The Nikon Coolpix P90 12.1 mega pixel camera can go back in time by one second to capture ten shots before the one taken by the user.

The new 12.1-megapixel Nikon Coolpix P90 keeps on shooting, and that s where it is differs from peers. According to Nikon, when the photographer hits the the shutter release button, it will save the previous ten photos that were automatically shot. The ten photos will only be 3-megapixel captures.

Reviews said that the P90 will be a superzoom point-and-shoot that offers 24X optical zoom through a very wide-angle 26-mm lens. The Nikon Coolpix P90 camera comes with a 3-inch LCD, and an electronic viewfinder, which is another tiny LCD screen. Nikon will retail the P90 for $399.95; commercial roll out by March 2009. Features include face detection, optical image stabilization, and anti-blink technologies.

Meanwhile, the camera maker has also made additions to its range of products by unveiling its new L-Series offerings. The product range includes its model Coolpix L19 that will sel for as cheap as $109. The other models will include an 8-megapixel shooter with a 2.7-inch LCD screen and 3.6X optical zoom. Nikon will also bring to the store its new L20, for just $129. The Coolpix L100 is another model part of the range and will be a 10-megapixel device that would boast of 15X optical zoom and optical image stabilization. This model will retail for a price of $279.95. All the cameras in the L-Series are expected to hit stores later this month.

The camera maker’s last updated range is the S-series, which included a slew of slim modles and top line features.
