SriLankan Food Festival in Mumbai
Taste the best Sri lankan delicacies at InterContinental the Grand, Mumbai

Mumbai, 2 July 2005: InterContinental The Grand brings to Mumbai the best Chefs from the Island of fantasy - Sri Lanka. Two famous Chefs from The Colombo Plaza Hotel in Sri Lanka will prepare authentic traditional Sri Lankan delicacies for foodies from 2nd July to 10th July for lunch and dinner at 24/7, All Day Dining. The Chefs flown in especially from Sri Lanka will bring with them their personal gourmet secrets and homegrown spices to add authentic flavour to their firing works.
Diners will also be enthralled by the traditional Sri Lankan music and dance.
“We have teamed up with the Srilankan Airlines to organise this unique festival and have invited expert chefs from the Colombo Plaza, Colombo, to prepare ethnic SriLankan cuisine and desserts. This special occasion will bring with it pleasant surprises for our guests, they have a chance to win an amazing holiday to Sri Lanka through Srilankan Airlines. A dance troupe has also been brought in to add the oomph to the ambience,” said Master Of Trade, Chef Jochen Kern, Executive Chef InterContinental The Grand.
The Festival will offer flavours with a difference, enhancing the island cuisine that harnesses spices and ingredients. The chefs will focus on a variety of flavours that can be created simply by the different use of diverse ingredients. The festival has an assortment of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes starting from its popular Black Chicken curry, Fried Spicy Fish, Prawn Curry, Veg Cutlet, coconut roti all creatively laid on a live counter.
For the ardent vegetarians, the festival provides variety that includes Vegetable yellow rice, Mixed Vegetable Curry, Brinjal Moju, Potato Mustard Curry & Tempered Beans. For the sweet end to the meal relish Jackfruit in Syrup or coconut pancakes.
24/7, the all day dining restaurant at the InterContinental The Grand, has the most inviting selection of western, Asian and Indian Food. The restaurant features a live Pizza and Pasta counter, an extensive salad bar and sinful desert.
