Bollywood’s lovable Munna had a reason to smile on Wednesday, as a TADA court on Wednesday exempted the actor and 25 other accused from personal appearance until further orders in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case.

The summons issued to them had brought Dutt and the 25 accused to be present before the designated judge, P D Kode, on Wednesday.

Sanjay Dutt and the 25 accused on Wednesday appeared before designated judge PD Kode in accordance with summons issued to them. The popular and much loved actor has been charged with possessing an AK-56 rifle and destroying it with the help of friends.

Further, it is the case of CBI that co-accused Baba Musa Chohan, Samir Hingora and Hanif, Kadawala had gone to Sanjay Dutt's residence in Bandra in Mumbai at the instance of prime conspirator Anees Ibrahim and delivered three rifles and ammunition to the actor. Sanjay allegedly retained one rifle and returned the rest, it was reported.

Dutt is also charged with destroying the weapon with the help of his friends - Yusuf Nullwala, Ajay Marwah, Kersi Adajania and Rusi Mulla. All of them have been granted bail.

While the hearing was on, fans had thronged the court premises to have a glimpse of the star. And as he emerged out of the court room, after 2.30 pm, crowds almost mobbed him wishing him luck.

The verdict on Sunjay Dutt is expected after the Diwali holidays, said reports.
