Finally There is a new Miss Universe Trinidad & Tobago
When the history of Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2005 is written, the setting will be mostly courtrooms and less of catwalks.
However, organizers and pageant-watchers heaved a sigh of relief as Miss Magdalene Walcott was crowned Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago 2005 at an event held on Monday night. Magdalene Walcott will now be eligible to
represent Miss Universe 2005 to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30, 2005.
The panel of judges said that Magdalene was the candidate most ready to take up the Bangkok assignment,
and believed that her previous experience at Miss World would help her. Magdalene Walcott was among the Top
15 of Miss World in 2003.
It was also noted that Magdalene had matured significantly in all areas since her Miss World assignment.
Walcott is readying for a 6-week grueling schedule of preparing for Miss Universe 2005. The training programme
includes strengthening interview skills, sculpting her body, familiarizing with costumes and cosmetics and
refining stage performance. She is expected to take off for Bangkok on May 7, 2005.
