Verónica Hidalgo is Miss Spain 2005

March 26:  Verónica Hidalgo is the new Miss Spain 2005. She won the beauty contest at the annual Miss Spain pageant which was held at Oropesa del Mar on March 20.

The first runner-up (Primera Dama de Honor) was 21-year old Miss Lleida, Mireia Verdu. 178 cm tall, she will compete in the Miss World 2005 pageant.

The second runner-up (Segunda Dama de Honor) was Miss Las Palmas, Laura Ojeda She will vie for Miss Europe 2006
20-year old Verónica Hidalgo is a professional model, standing 178 cm tall. Veronica is slated to represent Spain at the Miss Universe 2005 pageant to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30.

The remaining pageant finalists were contestants from Sevilla, Alicante and Malaga. One of them will represent Spain at the Miss International 2005 pageant in Tokyo, Japan.
