Journo student is Miss Universe Ethiopia 2005

26: 23-year old journalism student Atetegeb Tesfaye has been crowned Miss Universe Ethiopia® 2005. First runner-up Jiitu Abraham won Miss Ethiopia-World® 2005 and 2nd runner up Dina Fekadu, a 20 year old student won Miss Tourism-Ethiopia®. Atetegeb will represent Ethiopia at the global beauty shootout Miss Universe 2005.
The Miss Universe Ethiopia 2005 winners were selected at the beauty pageant held on March 19 2005 at the Addis Ababa City hall in Ethiopia. The event lasted 2 and a half hours,
This will be only the second time Ethiopia is sending a candidate to the prestigious Miss Universe 2005 pageant, to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30, 2005. The Addis Ababa event was programmed to be identical to the Miss Universe 2005 event.
Standing 176 cm tall, Atetegeb is expected to represent Ethiopia at the Miss Earth pageants too. Jiitu and Dina are expected to attend the Miss International and Miss Tourism global award pageants.
Miss Universe Ethiopia 2005 kicked off with the national costume presentation. The girls had practiced their opening dance routine, their evening gowns spectacular.
