Mariam George is Miss Universe Egypt 2005

April 22: 18-year old Mariam George, a business administration student at the Modern Academy in Egypt has won the tile of Miss Universe Egypt 2005. Mariam George will be representing Egypt at the Miss Universe 2005 pageant to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 30, 2005.
Four runners-up were also chosen among the final twelve Miss Universe Egypt 2005 contestants.
Contestants at the Miss Egypt contest wera aged between 17 and 27. All contestants are single and educated.
Miss Egypt 2005 contest has faced attadks from as it has been seen as anti-thetical to the social and religious principles. Opponents claim that the Miss Egypt pageant made a mockery out of females.
However, Mariam George has beaten them all! Hats off!
