Japanese woman tourist raped in Pushkar
In a third such case of tourist rape in Rajasthan, a Japanese tourist has alleged that she was drugged and raped by the son of a hotel manager.

A Japanese woman has alleged that she was raped and robbed of Rs 54,000 by the son of a hotel manager in Pushkar, Rajasthan, on April 2, along with three other men.
The woman sent a fax to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ajmer, on Tuesday stating that 22-year-old Babloo drugged her with bhang and raped her. The victim sent the fax from Agra. Srinivas Janga, the Senior Superitendent of Police said "On the basis of a fax we recieved from the woman, we tried contacting the woman. We requested the Japanese embassy to send her to Ajmer. We have to take the statement of the victim before making arrests."
The police have filed an FIR against Babloo and three other accomplices. She also claimed that the accused stole Rs 54,000 from her which she had given him for safekeeping. Babloo had told her that Pushkar was not safe for foreign tourists and had offered to keep the money safely for her.
The Japanese embassy has been informed about the complaint. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Rajasthan, a popular tourist destination with foreign tourists, has witnessed the third case of a tourist rape in the state within a year.
In 2005, a 47-year-old German tourist was raped by two auto-rickshaw drivers in Jodhpur. The two were sentenced to life imprisonment by a fast-track court within a month.
Recently, on March 20 this year, a 26-year-old German student was raped in Alwar by the son of a senior police officer. The accused has since then been found guilty and sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a fast-track court.
