Contrary to earlier reports, the blessing after the Prince
Charles-Camilla Parker wedding ceremony will be shown live on
TV. Earlier reports had indicated that the ceremony will be a
private affair with no arc lights around.
Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will lead the blessing
at Windsor Castle, following the April 8 civil wedding service
at Windsor Town Hall. The civil wedding function will not be
shown on TV, Clarence House, Prince Charles’ office said.
Clarence House had earlier this week said that Charles and
Camilla would be driven the short distance from the Castle to
Guildhall, Windsor town hall, and back.
The
religious blessing for the wedding on April 8 will be given by
Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams .
When Charles married Diana in 1981, over 600,000 well-wishers
trekked to London to catch a glimpse of the British Prince and
his bride.
Royal wedding command enormous TRPs in London. Princess Anne’s
wedding to Mark Phillips in 1973 attracted 27,8 million
viewers in Britain.
The wedding of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson was viewed on
TV by 20.5 million Britishers, while 14 million watched the
last royal wedding, between Prince Edward and Sophie
Rhys-Jones in 1999.
