March
20, 2005 :
In their first official foreign trip, Prince Charles and
Camilla Parker Bowles will visit the US and meet President
George W. Bush and his wife. The visit of the Prince and his
wife visit is
scheduled for October-November. The trip is expected to last
for a week. This was reported by London’s Sunday Telegraph,
quoting royal officials.
"Certainly it will be a possibility that Camilla Parker Bowles
might accompany him on his official tour in the autumn but we
aren't going to confirm where that might be," a Clarence House
spokesman was reported as saying.
However, Sunday Telegraph said that the couple would
the US President at the White House after receiving an open
invitation. “America is very much on the cards for the Prince
and Mrs Parker Bowles," the newspaper quoted a royal official
as saying.
British newspapers had earlier speculated that the Prince had
scrapped the wedding plan after a series of hiccups. However,
his spokesman flatly denied this. Separately, the Prince's
office denied a newspaper report that he had considered
cancelling the wedding following a series of embarrassing
hiccups.
The Sunday Express had reported that Mrs Parker Bowles
had to coax her future husband into conducting the wedding.
