Madonna and Tobey Maguire poor
tippers, say waitress' book
Waitress’ book names poor
celebrity tippers.
6 June, 2007:

Who are the celebrities who pay
little or no tips in restaurants?
They are Madonna, Tobey Maguire,
Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rupert Everett if
one is to go by a book “exposing” poor
celebrity tippers.
Katherine Taylor, who works as a
waitress in New York, has written a
novel titled Rules for Saying Goodbye
in which her heroine – who is also
named Katherine Taylor – lists the
lousy tippers.
Katherine Taylor confirmed through her
publisher that she has worked as a
bartender in West Village and declared
that all the celebrity anecdotes in
her book are true, according to
allheadlinenews.com
Here is a sample from Rules for Saying
Goodbye: “Gwyneth Paltrow came in. I
wanted to tell her that I had been
making a list and she was on it, but
Gwyneth was not stingy, only stupid. I
thought she probably couldn’t
calculate 15%.”
Rupert Everett and Madonna have been
named in the novel for leaving no tip
at all.
Tobey Maguire, Barbra Streisand, and
John Travolta’s wife Kelly Preston are
listed as giving very small tips.
Yet another anecdote from the book
says that “Paul McCartney was once too
drunk to tip.”
