Packet containing euros mailed to Aishwarya Rai, customs investigation on
Customs finds that a packet mailed to Aishwarya Rai contains 23,000 Euros.

Its troubled times for Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai as the mystery over a packet containing currency slowly started unfolding itself.
Immeditely after the arrival of the packet addressed to Aishwarya, which is said to contain undeclared 23,000 Euros, which in rupee terms would mean Rs 13 lakh, in hard currency.
Though no case has been registered so far the Customs Department is closely monitoring the mysterious packet. The currency packet was sent to Aishwarya Rai from a man in The Netherlands. The declaration attached to the packet read that it contained electronic items. However, the officials found that the declaration was false.
The department sleuths are now trying to establish whether Aishwarya Rai is aware of it or she is part of it or it is done without her knowledge. The Customs Department have not revealed the name of the person who sent the packet, neither have they disclosed whether the man is of Indian origin or not.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Aishwarya’s lawyer Girish Kulkarni said the Bollywood star had no knowledge whatsoever about the packet or its content. He added that his client has no knowledge of the packet that was addressed to her and that she was in no way a party to this. He also said that they have not been contacted by the Customs authorities nor asked to appear for any kind of questioning. Kulkarni however said that Aishwarya would appear for any questioning if there is a need.
