Status update: Opinion polls indicate that rajasthan may go
to the Congress, despite the BJP's best attempts. Ashok Gehlot
may be dull and boring, but his drought-management skills are
still fresh in people's minds, and that may do the trick in
Rajasthan. However, in this state, the BJP is still trying very
hard by bringing in its start campaigners and film stars.
Elections to four states – Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh - will be held on December 1 and elections to the Mizo assembly will be held on November 20.
In the Rajasthan state assembly elections 2003, the state will
witness a direct fight between BJP and Congress. The current
chief minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, will clash with BJP's
Vasundhara Raje Scindia in the state assembly elections, to be
held on December 1, 2003. Current analysis of Rajasthan's
electorate shows that they are likely to vote Congress back to
power in the state assembly elections. Watch this space for
more updates.
