19th August, 2005: The World Airline Entertainment Association’s annual conference and exhibition will be held
inHamburg from September 20 to 23rd. In 2004, the conference was held in Washington State Convention and Trade Centre.
The WAEA conference and exhibition, which is expected to attract 1400 airline industry and in-flight entertainment (IFE) delegates, would be held at Hamburg Messe and Conference Centre.
WAEA is the official network of about 100 airlines and over 250 airline suppliers and related companies.
The aviation industry’s prime tradeshow will feature exhibits and in-flight products, systems and services.
The WAEA event provides an opportunity for airline industry personnel and vendors to hold talks on various in-flight offerings.
The event is expected to showcase state-of-the-art audio and video hardware apart from in-flight phone, fax, and satellite telecommunications.
The educational sessions would deal with latest in-flight entertainment technologies, technical problems, programming and marketing strategies.
Representatives of about 70 airlines apart from 180 in-flight vendors will participate in networking and special events, which will also include the presentation of Avion Awards for the airlines in various categories.
The Avion awards preview pavilion features the best of in-flight audio, video and print. Awards are given in 10 categories.
United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and Sri Lankan Airlines earned top honors for “Best Overall IFE last year.
India’s largest private sector airline, Jet Airways, has also registered to participate in the mega trade show.
All major airlines including British Airways, Lufthansa , KLM, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Virgin Airways are also taking part.
