Jet Airways expands popular check fares scheme

8 August, 2005: Jet Airways has decided to expand its immensely popular Instant purchase `check fares’ across most of its network.

The company said in a release on its website that passengers can avail multi level check fares on almost all sectors on the Jet Airways domestic network.

Check fares will be offered on a first-come-first serve basis, Jet Airways said.

Reservation and ticketing of ‘Check Fares’ have to be done simultaneously. Passengers can also book these fares on the airline’s website, www.jetairways.com.

Members of Jet’s frequent flyer programme ‘Jet Privilege’ can also accrue miles on most ‘Check Fare’ tickets’.

Passengers can change their travel plan for a cancellation fee of Rs.500. Jet Airways also said it has withdrawn its 15/21/30 day Apex and Super Apex Fares. Passengers already holding ticketed Apex bookings for future travel can travel as planned. Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 39 classic and next generation Boeing 37-400/ 700 /800/900 aircraft, 3 A340-300 E aircraft and 8 modern ATR72-500 Turboprop aircraft.

The airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleet in the world, With an average age of a little over 4.6 years.

Approximately 24,000 passengers travel daily on Jet Airways' 280 flights to 47 destinations across India, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Kathmandu in Nepal, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and London Heathrow, UK. Since inception in May 1993 until end-July 2005, Jet Airways has flown over 53.5 million passengers.

Jet Airways also launched daily flights between Raipur, the Capital of Chhattisgarh and Mumbai with daytime flights from Monday, August 8th. The line will operate this route with a Boeing 737-700 aircraft, which has 20 seats in Club Premiere and 102, seats in Economy class. Raipur becomes the 43rd destination in Jet Airways’ domestic network. The move is part of the airline’s planned expansion programme to enhance connectivity in India. The Raipur – Mumbai service was inaugurated today at Raipur’s Mana Airport by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.
