Delta launches New York-Mumbai non-stop flights
Flights would take off from JFK
airport, New York to Mumbai; Kingfisher to provide connection flights in India.

New York: Delta Air Lines launched a non-stop flight connecting New York and Mumbai.
The first flight from New York's John F Kennedy
Airport arrived in Mumbai on November 1 midnight.
The American carrier aims to target tourists and industrialists who wouldn’t mind a long journey to gain a few hours.The present flight will cut journey time by two hours.
Delta is using Boeing 777-200ER, whixch has a seating
capacity of 268 for the New York-Mumbai non-stop flight. Delta has 31 international non-stop flights.
As part of this plan, Delta Air Lines signed pacts with India’s private carrier Kingfisher.
The Vijay Malla promoted Kingfisher would provide connection flights to Delta Air Lines’ non-stop flights to cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad and New Delhi.
The connection flights would be within two hours after the non-stop flights arrive in Mumbai. It will have a 50-seat BusinessElite class. More connection flights to other cities would be added soon.
Delta Air Lines said 70% of the food in the non-stop flights would be ethnic Indian with vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. There would be Jain food as well, Delta Air Lines said.
There would be at least four flight attendants who speak Hindi in the flights. Entertainment options would also include Hindi movies, along with English ones.
US-based Continental Airlines already has a non-stop flight connecting New York with New Delhi. Many major airline firms are also considering non-stop flights, it is reliably learnt.
Delta Air Lines, which has its headquarters in Atlana, is the third largest airline in the US.
