Pfizer, Dr Reddy’s, Serum, Jubilant among winners of Frost & Sullivan healthcare awards 2009

Indian arm of Pfizer Inc, Merck and desi companies including Dr Reddy’s, Jubilant Organosys, Serum Institute, Veeda Clinical research are among the 19 companies from the medical devices, healthcare IT, medical imaging, drug discovery, biotechnology and clinical diagnostics background that won ’2009 India excellence in healthcare awards instituted by Frost& Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan, which hosted ’2009 India excellence in Healthcare Awards’ at Mumbai, said the award spotlighted world-class companies that have performed par excellence and demonstrated best practices.

A 10-person jury comprised prominent healthcare industry experts. The Frost & Sullivan award jury examined the dynamics and performance of an extensive range of organizations following a meticulous measurement-based methodology to select companies in South Asia for each award category.

The jury then evealuated the short-listed companies based on actual market performance indicators like revenue growth, market share in specific category and growth in market share, breadth of services and solutions, demonstrated leadership in new services and innovation, major customer acquisitions, geographical expansion and partnership, business and marketing strategies, Frost & Sullivan said in a press release.

Multinational Pharmaceutical Company of the Year was Pfizer Limited, Indian Pharmaceutical Company of the Year was Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, Indian Contract Manufacturing Company of the Year was Jubilant Organosys, Indian Biotech Company of the Year was Serum Institute of India Ltd, Indian Clinical Research Organization of the Year was Veeda Clinical Research, Indian Emerging MNC Pharmaceutical Company of the Year was MSD Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd and Indian Drug Discovery Research Organization of the Year was Chembiotek, in the biotech and pharmaceuticals category.

These companies have contributed and in the future would drive the growth of the industry through their market leadership, competitive strategies, and innovation, the release said.”Gross under penetration of healthcare services in India will provide a fertile ground for the growth of the healthcare sector,” Sandeep Sinha, Deputy Director, South Asia, Middle East and North Africa, Healthcare was quoted as saying.
