CordLife offers replacement warranty for cord blood banking clients

The Kolkata-based cord blood banking network CordLife has come out with a warranty those clients who use its centres to bank umbilical cord blood for future purposes.

The newly introduced to quality guarantee programme assured of a viable cord blood unit throughout their contractual agreement period with CordLife.

In case their original cord blood unit loses its viability during the contractual period, Cordlife will search and pay for a suitable replacement or give the family a benefit of up to $25,000 to defray medical costs, reports said.

Although our facility in India is already IS0 9001:2008 certified, the quality guarantee will definitely further boost the confidence of our clients, according to Simon Hoo, general manager, CordLife.

“We are able to provide this unprecedented guarantee to our clients because we have utmost confidence in the reliability of our quality system and services towards therapeutic relevance,” he has stated.

Apart from quality guarantee, if a transplant is required by a client who has stored their baby’s cord blood stem cells with CordLife at any point of time within the tenure of the storage period, CordLife as a part of its contractual agreement will ensure to provide all relevant information regarding transplant physicians, transplant center, and all logistical support with regard to transportation of the sample as well as the travel of the patient along with his/her family.

Further, in case the stored sample of umbilical cord stem cells is required for a transplant, CordLife will arrange for the transportation of the sample to the concerned place of transplant anywhere in the world and the entire cost of transportation will be borne by CordLife.

Cord Life India has recently announced its plans to expand its operations in Mumbai.

Cord Life is planning to open sales, marketing and operations forces in Mumbai for collection of samples.

Cord Life expects to start the work on infrastructure and workforce for the collection centre soon. The Mumbai centre would be catering to the entire country for marketing and sales purpose. The company also plans to have further subsequent centres in potential areas of the city, reports said.
