Lara Tanguy, the Miss Universe France 2008 contestant, is an aspiring nurse. Lara Tanguy is currently studying nursing at the School of Nursing of Angers, and enjoys reading and sports.

Lara has lived for many years in San Antonio in the US and Ecouflant in France. Earlier this year, Lara won the Miss France Monde 2008 title, and also enjoys the Miss Pays de Loire 2007 title.

Lara Tanguy was the second runner-up in the Miss France 2008. However, she she will represent France in the Miss Universe 2008 contest, after Miss France 2008 Valerie Begue was asked to step down because of her suggestive photographs that appeared in the Entrevue magazine. After many discussions Valerie Begue was allowed to keep the title but was prohibited from participating in any international competitions.

Lara will accompany Genevieve de Fontenay, the chairperson of Miss France Committee, to all regional elections and galas. The first runner up in the Miss France 2008 did not want to participate in any of the events or take on the responsibilities of the title because of her studies.

Lara Tanguy is the daughter of an engineer and a laboratory assistant.
