19-year-old Eliska Buckova is the Miss Universe Czech Republic 2008. Eliska won the Czech Miss 2008 title. The 1st Czech Vicemiss was Hana Svobodová and the 2nd Czech Vicemiss 2008 was Elisavet Charalambidu.

Eliska belongs to Strážnice, in the Hodonín region.

Eliska has a clear preparation plan for the Miss Universe 2008 contest. Eliska Buchova is taking English classes, to prepare for the Miss Universe contest, at the Berlitz School of Languages.

As part of the study program, Eliska will learn not just the English language but will also learn to understand and respond to different accents. Eliska is also learning Vietnamese customs.

Eliska Buchova says she will focus on her natural look for the contest.

Eliska has displayed the gown she will don on Jly 14, 2008. The green and gold dress has been desinged by fashion designer duo Tomi by Noubikko. She will also carry the national dress made by Czech designer Jana Berg. The dress is based on a theme of ‘Prague Baby Jesus’, carrying a motif of a wall painting in St. Wenceslas Chapel in the centre of the dress.

Eliska’s hairstyle has been put together by the art director of Hair City Salons, Christophe Scarfogliero.

Eliška Buchova will take two sets of diamond jewelry made of white gold worth 2.5 million Czech Crowns.

Eliska says her role model is Petra Nemcová, and the Czech Miss Director, Michaela Malácová.
