<p>You can see <strong>a complete list of the 2009 Filmfare award winners</strong> <a href="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/2009-filmfare-awards-nominations-2008-winners/">here</a>.</p>
<p><span id="more-846"></span></p>
<p><strong>The 2009 Best Film award winner is Jodhaa Akbar.</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_453" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 450px"><img class="size-full wp-image-453" title="jodhaa-akbar" src="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/jodhaa-akbar.jpg" alt="Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in Jodhaa Akbar" width="440" height="289" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Jodhaa Akbar: 2009 Filmfare Best Film award nominee</p></div>
<p>Ashutosh Gowariker&#8217;s historical film <em>Jodhaa Akbar</em>, starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sonu Sood, and Ila Arun, is the 2009 Filmfare Best Film winner.</p>
<p>The movie has already swept the top 2009 Star Screen awards, 2009 Stardust Awards, and the V Shantaram awards.</p>
<p>The other nominations for the 2009 Filmfare Best Film award were:</p>
<p><strong>1) Dostana<br />
</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_847" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 410px"><img class="size-full wp-image-847" title="dostana-best-film-filmfare-award-nominee" src="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/dostana-best-film-filmfare-award-nominee.jpg" alt="Dostana: 2009 Filmfare Best Film award nominee" width="400" height="229" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Dostana: 2009 Filmfare Best Film award nominee</p></div>
<p><em>Dostana</em> starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kirron Kher, Sushmita Mukherjee, and Boman Irani, was released in 2008. The movie was directed by newbie Tarun Mansukhani.</p>
<p><em>Dostana</em> is the story of two men (John Abramham and Abhishek Bachchan) who pretend to be homosexuals to rent an apartment, owned by a young girl (Priyanka Chopra) who does not want to rent out her place to men. <em>Dostana</em> was a decent hit, but not a blockbuster.</p>
<p><em>Dostana</em> is a popular, light, romantic comedy but is unlikely to win the 2009 Filmfare Best Film award.</p>
<p><strong>2) Ghajini</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_316" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 282px"><img class="size-full wp-image-316" title="aamir-ghajini-look-photo" src="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/aamir-ghajini-look-photo.jpg" alt="Aamir Khan's Ghajini photo" width="272" height="356" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Ghajini : 2009 Filmfare Best Film award winner?</p></div>
<p>AR Murugadoss&#8217;s <em>Ghajini </em>with Aamir Khan, Asin, and Jiah Khan is the biggest blockbuster and biggest grosser in the history of Bollywood.</p>
<p><em>Ghajini </em>is tipped to be the 2009 Best Film Filmfare award winner. <em>Ghajini </em>is a remake of the Tamil Ghajini, also directed by AR Murugadoss, which in turn is a remake of Christopher Nolan&#8217;s <em>Memento</em>.</p>
<p><strong>3) Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi<br />
</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_353" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 370px"><img class="size-full wp-image-353" title="rab-ne-bana-di-jodi-photo-story" src="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/rab-ne-bana-di-jodi-photo-story.jpg" alt="Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi poster" width="360" height="424" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi: 2009 Filmfare Best Film nominee</p></div>
<p>Shahrukh Khan&#8217;s <em>Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi </em>directed by Aditya Chopra, was a huge hit, second only to <em>Ghajini</em>. <em>Rab Bana Di Jodi was </em>2008&#8242;s second-highest grosser after <em>Ghajini</em>.</p>
<p>The movie stars Shahrukh Khan, newcomer Anushka Sharma, and Vinay Pathak. The movie also had special appearances in the song Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte, from Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta, and Bipasha Basu.</p>
<p><strong>4) Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na</strong></p>

<p><em>Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na</em> is a nominee of the 2009 Filmfare Best Film award.</p>
<p>This utterly sweet romantic movie stars newcomer Imran Khan, Genelia D&#8217;Souza, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Naseeruddin Shah (special appearance).</p>
<p><em>Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na </em>was directed by Abbas Tyrewala, script writer and dialogue writer of movies like <em>Munnabhai MBBS</em>, <em>Asoka</em>, <em>Om Shanti Om</em>, and <em>Maqbool</em>.</p>
<p><strong>5) Rock On<br />
</strong></p>
<div id="attachment_849" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 380px"><img class="size-full wp-image-849" title="rock-on-2009-filmfare-award" src="http://www.dancewithshadows.com/movies/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/rock-on-2009-filmfare-award.jpg" alt="Rock On" width="370" height="278" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Rock On: 2009 Filmfare Best Film award nominee</p></div>

<p>The winner of the 2008 Filmfare Best Film award was <em>Taare Zameen Par</em>, beating the other nominees in the category, <em>Chak De India</em>, <em>Om Shanti Om</em>, and <em>Guru</em>.</p>
