Subrat Dutta, the Calcutta based actor, has bagged the best actor award, for his performance in the film titled “Madholal Keep Walking” at the Cairo Film Festival.
The 33rd Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is currently on in Cairo. In the film “Madholal Keep Walking”, Subrat Dutta plays the role of Madholal, Mumbai-based common man. The film has been directed by documentary director Jai Tank.

The film features Dutta as a common Mumbaikar who has only modest dreams, but has to face very unusual challenges. Subrat Dutta handled the role with clinical perfection.
Though the film is not very well-heard in India, the film is expected to collect a number of awards at film festivals like the one in Cairo.
“Madholal Keep Walking” is the first feature film of the documentary filmmaker Jai Tank, and the film was received well at the Cairo Film fest. The film is doing extremely well in the international circuit.
The film has been nominated in three categories – best film, best producer and best director – at the Asian Film Festival in Singapore. The film will also be showcased at the Third Eye Asian Film Festival to be held in Mumbai in December.
