Movies and the Internet seem to be moving ahead hand in hand. The latest move in this fast changing segment comes via the Rajshri Group’s new website launched through its digital media and entertainment arm - Rajshri Media (P) Limited. Several famous Rajshri movies and songs are available online on the site.

Rajshri’s website comes close on the heels of Yash Raj Films relaunching its website. With this, www.rajshri.com will serve as an online broadband entertainment destination for premium Indian video content.

Significantly, for the first time in the history of Bollywod, the website has premiered Sooraj R Barjatya’s forthcoming flick Vivah online on the same day as its worldwide theatrical release on Friday. The web premiere of Shahid Kapur -Amrita Rao starrer movie is aimed at the ever expanding number of international consumers for Bollywood entertainment. Three versions of Vivah are available on www.rajshri.com, which includes the original theatrical version in Hindi, theatrical version in Hindi with English subtitles and its Telugu version, Parinayam.

And this is not all. Rajshri Media has aggregated more than 3,000 hours of Indian video content across multiple genres. Net users can now stream and download full-length feature films like Phir Hera Pheri, Hera Pheri, Amar Akbar Anthony, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Love In Tokyo, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and the like. The site also has on offer licensed film and non-film music videos, concerts, humor clips, short films and documentaries for the Net savvy film buff.

The latest trend comes at a time when digital media and networks are fundamentally changing the way entertainment content is created, distributed and consumed worldwide. Rajshri aims at becoming the first choice of the global Indian community and that of the non-Indian consumer, who is fast increasing her appetite for Indian entertainment and all things Indian, said sources.

Consumers will be offered options to stream the movie on their PCs or download the movie with a limited 72-hour license. Consumers can further choose to stream either high or low bandwidth versions of the movie, depending on the speed of their broadband connectivity.

Rajshri also has plans to add new features to the site on a regular basis, launch sections on astrology, numerology, cuisine, spirituality, regional language content and also integrate rich content repurposed for mobile phones and other digital devices.
