Nude Kate Winslet in Playboy?

Reports say that Hugh Hefner has offered Oscar-winning actress, Kate Winslet, a Playboy cover spot and a nude spread inside the magazine.

Hefner has been quoted as saying, “There’s no question we would be interested in Kate. It’s a competitive market, more than it used to be, so she would be a most welcome addition in our pages.”

Kate Winslet is no stranger to nudity on screen and in print. The British actress has stripped in movies like Titanic (1997) where she gets her nude picture sketched, Iris (2001) where she is skinny dipping, Hideous Kinky (1998) that has her topless in a scene, and recently The Reader, where she has explicit lovemaking scenes.

But, she is reported to have said recently in an interview in Time magazine, that she will not disrobe on screen in the future.

She said, “I think I won’t do it again: A. I can’t keep getting away with it, and B. I don’t want to become ‘that actress who always gets her kit off.’”

If Kate Winslet does decide to pose for Playboy, she will join the ranks of Marilyn Monroe (December 1953), Jayne Mansfield (February 1955), Mara Corday (October 1958), Ursula Andress (June 1965), Carol Lynley (March 1965), Kim Basinger (February 1983), Janet Jones (March 1987), Drew Barrymore (January 1995), Daryl Hannah (November 2003), and Denise Richards (December 2004).

The immensely talented actress won her first Oscar in 2009 for Best Actress for the movie The Reader. Previously, Kate Winslet has been nominated six times at the Oscars. She was nominated for the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress for the movie Sense and Sensibility in 1995.

In 1997, she was nominated for the Academy award for Best Actress for Titanic, and then again for Best Supporting Actress for Iris in 2001.

Once again, in 2004, she was nominated for the Oscar award for Best Actress for her role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, followed by a Best Actress nomination for Little Children in 2006.

Kate Winslet is the youngest actress ever to receive six Oscar nominations. At 22, she was the youngest actress to receive two Oscar nominations.

Kate Winslet’s last two movies, Revolutionary Road and The Reader, have been vastly appreciated. In Revolutionary Road, directed by her husband Sam Mendes, she stars with Leonardo Di Caprio. Revolutionary Road, based on the book by the same name, Richard Yates, is the story of a young couple who move to the suburbs of Connecticut with their two children. Dissatisfied with their marriage and their lives, they try to find ways to deal with the situation.

In The Reader, Kate Winslet plays a woman (Hanna Schmitz) who has a tumultuous affair with a younger man, Michael Berg (David Kross), in post -World War II Germany.

She disappears shortly. Berg, now a lawyer (played by Ralph Fiennes), finds her again, as a defendent in a war crime trial.
