HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS SEQUEL

Another Harry Potter book in the offing after Deathly Hallows?

11 July , 2007

As the release date for the last book in the Harry Potter series--Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows--approaches, the hearts of a 100 million fans are beating fast. Speculation is rife that JK Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter series, will likely kill Harry at the end of the book, which will surely be a deadly battle between Harry, the boy hero, and Lord Voldemort, his nemesis.

Rowling herself has refused to reveal what the book might contain and its specific details. But clearly, Rowling has given some clues. Rowling has said that two of her characters might die in the final book. Some are saying that Snape is not so evil as you think and Dumbledore could come back from death. Well, those speculations have gained some kind of credibility as time proceeds.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter in the movie series, seems pretty convinced that Rowling will have to kill Harry at the end of the book. He is learnt to have said that every actor wants to do a death scene and he too looks forward to it. He also doubts whether Rowling would be able to resist the calls to do another Harry Potter book if the boy wizard is still alive.

A hacker has stated that he accessed the publisher Bloomsbury's computers and found that it's Hermione Granger who will be killed when the battle between Harry and Lord Voldemort rages on. While this has struck fear in the hearts of Granger's fans worldwide, the credibility of the source is dubious.

There were rumors that the last word in the book was scar. When asked, Rowling is reported to have said, "Scar? It was so for ages, and now it's not. Scar is quite near the end, but it's not the last word."

There are also reports in the press that love will play a big role in the final book and Harry will likely kill Voldemort through deep psychological love. It is also likely that Professor Snape, whose loyalty had been left in tatters will show his true loyalty in this final book.

Meanwhile a campaign is being launched to force JK Rowling to write another Harry Potter book. And those who initiated the campaign got a boost when Rowling said "never say never" when asked about writing another book on the famous boy wizard.

The Harry Potter books have been such a massive success, that the publisher Bloomsbury may reconsider ending the series. Rowling had disclosed two characters will die, fuelling speculation that one of them will be Harry himself. But Harry Potter fans have not been deterred. They are citing examples of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes and they say that even if Harry Potter dies in the final book, Rowling can easily resurrect her boy wizard, for nothing is impossible in the world of magic!
