Colors TV channel in association with UK’s FremantleMedia, is set to launch a new reality show called India’s Got Talent.
The show is inspired from the famous UK show Britain’s Got Talent. The theme and format of the reality show was originally coined by Simon Cowell, the very prominent jury member of American Idol and the co-owner of SYCO which has many successful shows under its belt. The show will be produced by Synergy Adlabs.
The show is a talent hunt show wherein anyone with any extraordinary skill ranging from dancing to magic may participate and entertain the nation. The show aims to bring out untapped talent present in various parts of India.
The Britain’s Got Talent show has enjoyed a top position in the UK television ratings. The show’s format has been used in US, Germany, France and Australia. This would be the format’s first stint in Asia. Patrick Schult, managing director, FremantleMedia Asia, says, “Audiences from all age groups have propelled this show to the top of ratings charts in every country it has launched. There is such an incredible breadth of talent in India we can’t wait to what see we uncover with the launch of India’s Got Talent in 2009.”

The show has enjoyed a considerable amount of success and has been admired by people of all ages across the globe. This is a reality show, which will be short and concise and the number of episodes will be limited to prevent the show from dragging compared to other reality shows.

The auditions for the India’s Got Talent show on Colors will take place at selected venues in India. The winner would get prize money of Rs 1crore.
