Christian bale to play Robin Hood in Nottingham?

More on the Nottingham front. Christian Bale may play the role of Robin Hood. At least that is what Sir Ridley Scott would like, says a Daily Mail report. If the Batman star, who is said to be in talks for the role, is signed on, then he will play a dodgy Robin Hood.

Christian Bale

Sir Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood is a nasty guy. He steals, cheats, murders and gets away with undeserved sympathy. The Sheriff of Nottingham (Russell Crowe), arch nemesis of Robin Hood, will be portrayed as an honorable man, who is caught n a love triangle with Robin Hood and Maid Marian (Sienna Miller). Perhaps, both Nottingham and Maid Marian will be in love with Robin Hood. Now, that would be interesting! In the picture below, Bale and Crowe do seem to love each other.

Sienna Miller will play Maid Marian.Word is that Vanessa Redgrave, Saoirse Ronan, and William Hurt will also be signed on for Nottingham.

All in all, Scott’s Nottingham sounds like an interesting take on Robin Hood.

Universal’s Nottingham is slated for a 2009 release.
