Ask the Dust movie: Salma found being nude with Collin Farrel 'okay'.

 Ask the Dust comes to the movie screens this week, another race-related drama immediately after Crash has won the Best Picture Oscar 2006 for its depiction of race relations in Los Angeles. Like Crash, Ask the Dusk is also set in Los Angeles, though the period is the 1930s, when LA was a boom town.
Collin Farrel plays aspiring author Arturo Bandini, who arrives in the 1930s Los Angeles to write a book, and falls in love, reluctantly, with an illiterate Mexican waitress Camilla, played by Salma Hayek.
 For the fans of both Collin farrel and Salma Hayek, yes, there are a few nude scenes in the movie too. We will come to that in a bit.
Salma hayek says that being a mexican actress, she got too involved in the movie and found it difficult when the shoot ended.
Ask the Dust is based on a book of the same name by author John Fante. The movie deals with a time when racial prejudices were at a high, and Mexicans had practically the same rights as animals in Los Angeles.
Collin Farrel said that "it's an incredible love story. It's about a time in American history - and the history, particularly, of Los Angeles as a city - that is fascinating,"
Ask the Dust is adapted for screen and directed by Robert Towne. Cinematography is by veteran Caleb Deschanel, and the entire movie was actually shot in South Africa.
If Hollywood hunk Collin Farrel acts in movie, it is sure to have a few sex scenes, and it is no different with Ask the Dust.
Salma hayek had to gorge on hamburgers to get a more voluptious figure for her role, and she said that was a little self conscious when she had to strip for the nude scenes. She said that however, her co-star Collin farrel ensured that she got comfortable, after he stripped and ran around the movie set completely naked. Samla Hayek said that during the shoot, he kept his eyes firmly on her face and never looked down! She said the she thought that Collin farrel was a perfect gentleman. As for herself, Hayek admitted that she once caught a peek of him naked, but couldn't see as anyting clearly as her eyes were 'out of focus'!
Coming back to the movie, reviews for Ask the Dust so far have been mixed. Variety said that "Hayek is in full blossom as Camilla" while New York Observer, praising salma Hayek, said that the movie "long, lazy, plotless" and "a real ordeal."
The movie was special for Salma Hayek as she is Mexican, and intiially, when she tried to break into Hollywood, she found that prejudices against Mexicans made it almost impossible for her to land a role.
