Madhu Mantena, co-producer of Ghajini, has launched a collectible small statue based on Aamir Khan’s look in Ghajini, especially the tattoos and eight packs.

The small statue is priced at Rs 1499 (gulp), although I am sure there will be many who will be willing to shell out the dosh for the small statue.

The makers of Ghajini, Geetha Arts, claim that Aamir Khan’s statue is exquisitely carved and is a premium collectible.

The Aamir Khan small statue has been manufactured in China, in collaboration with China’s United Toys. Apparently, the small statue is built to scale and replicates Aamir Khan’s muscular structure in sharp detail.

The small statue will be on sale soon but as of now it can bought from the Ghajini website.

Ghajini’s revenues have already crossed Rs 100 crore. Geetha Arts claims that Ghajini is the highest ever grosser in Bollywood ever. But Geetha Arts is still stepping on the gas as far as its marketing initiatives are concerned. In early January 2009, Geetha Arts launched a computer game based on Ghajini, called Ghajini The Game. The company claims that Ghajini The Game is India’s first 3D computer game based on a movie. The game was built at a cost of Rs 30 million, and has been designed by Ghajini’s co-producer Madhu Mantena and Shashi Reddy, chairperson FX Labs Studio.

Just before Ghajini The Game was launched, Aamir Khan’s six looks in the Behka song from Ghajini was launched, followed by his Van Heusen look. The Van Heusen Ghajini Collection that was launched showcased Aamir’s tycoon look in the movie. After Ghajini was released, ushers in PVR multiplexes were spotted sporting Aamir Khan’s buzz cut. As part of a marketing initiative, Aamir Khan also gave buzz haircuts to people for free.

The latest marketing tactic to cash in on Ghajini’s success, the Aamir Khan small statue, is likely to fly off the shelves if the movie’s popularity is anything to go by.

But, those who cannot afford the original Aamir Khan small statue can wait for the fake imitations, that will no doubt flood the market.
