After Toyota and Honda, it is now the turn of Volkswagen. The company is recalling close to 200,000 units of its Novo Gol and Novo Voyage models.

The models built for Brazil are the ones being recalled due to insufficient grease in rear wheel bearings in some cases.
According to Volkswagen, there is a chance that the rear wheels could lock up when the bearings were not sufficiently greased – and this could lead to the wheel working itself loose, potentially leading to an accident.

Volkswagen said that Novo Gol and Novo Voyage models manufactured after July 2009 were not affected by the problem.
Toyota’s recall affected over 8.5 million vehicles, turning out to be a major public relations blow for the company.
