Toyota to showcase Avensis, iQ and Urban Cruiser at Paris Motor Show 2008

Paris Motor Show 2008 will see three vehicles from Toyota lining up – the Toyota Avensis, the iQ and the Urban Cruiser.

The UK-made Toyota Avensis is all set to make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show that will get underway on October 2. The third generation Avensis to be built at the Toyota manufacturing facility at Burnaston in Derbyshire is expected to go on sale by January next.

Considering the market need for machines that emit less CO2, the Avensis has been equipped with powerful engines that boast of less emissions. The Avensis will go on sale in January 2009. Toyota’s Burnaston plant in Derbyshire had recently reduced Auris production to a single shift.

The car maker has said that the Avensis would come with awesome features and would be retaining the high quality, refinement and equipment levels that are an established Avensis hallmark. More details of the car are awaited. It is expected that the car maker would announce the pricing later this year.

Toyota iQ

The Paris Motor Show will also feature Toyota’s iQ. The iQ is tipped as the world’s smallest premium four-seater with CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km, and Urban Cruiser, which were both shown as concepts at Geneva earlier this year. While the Urban Cruiser will be shown in 1.4-litre D-4D diesel all wheel drive (AWD) form. CO2 emissions levels are only 133g/km for this version. The iQ would boast of active and passive safety features ad for the first time curtain shield airbags would come installed behind the rear seats.

Toyota iQ for Paris

The iQ measures just less than three metres in length  making it the world’s smallest premium four-seater. The car comes with all the dynamic and safety attributes of bigger cars and the low CO2 emission properties are a clear winner.

Toyota Urban Cruiser

The Urban Cruiser, meanwhile, has been on sale in Japan for some time now. Review reports said that the iQ and Urban Cruiser could be the Toyota vehicles to watch this year at the Paris Motor Show.

The Urban Cruiser comes with a rugged exterior design, high level of safety equipment and CO2 emissions level of only 133g/km for the AWD version.
