The Paris Motor Show will see Skoda Auto showcase a spruced up version of the popular Octavia. The Octavia which has already earned a name as a best seller from the Skoda stables, has been given a face lift by incorporating a powerful design.

The modern day Octavia has been spruced up with a brand new 1.4 TSI/90 kW engine. Turbocharged 1.4 and 1.8 litre petrol engines can be combined with a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic DSG transmission, said the company. The new version comes with bolder headlamps, a more robust radiator grille and a one-piece bumper. The innovation of the rear part of the vehicle is mainly about new tail lamp covers and a dynamic bumper with integrated cat eyes, it added.

The company has also included new xenon headlamps which boost the Octavia’s active safety, while passive safety has been improved by installing front WOKS headrests for effective rear impact protection, it said.

Equally charming as the exterior is the interior design. A new innovated range of Skoda audio and navigation systems have been incorporated. The steering wheel, white backlit dashboard, air conditioning controls and the decorative strips on the doors and the central console have been redesigned. Besides the Octavia model, the car giant has also upgraded the Octavia Combi and Octavia Combi 4×4 versions.

The company, during the course of the motor show, is also expected to bring on show an entire portfolio of cars from its assembly line. The cars that could make it to the show include the Fabia SportLine with an exclusive grey roof, the Roomster Cycling and the new Skoda Superb. As is the case with other auto majors, Skoda too has begun its journey along the eco-friendly race track and is expected to bring in its green vehicles to the show. Several versions of the Fabia and Superb are expected to be shown in the environment friendly attire.
