The new Pajero Sport UV will be launched by Mitsubishi Motor Corporation at the Moscow Auto Salon 2008.
The auto show which gets underway at the Crocus Expo in Moscow on August 26 will extend up to September 7, 2008.
According to auto news reviews, the Pajero Sport comes with dynamic and sporty exterior lines. Complete with stylish and vast interior space and the model is now available in 5-seater and seven-seaters, the new vehicle is likely to be launched in select regions such as Russia, the ASEAN area, the Middle East, Latin America and Oceania by this autumn. However, the new model will not be available in Central Europe, Western Europe and North America, where other types of SUVs have better acceptance.
The Pajero Sport will sport different names in different markets. According to sources, the model will be called Montero Sport in South America, Nativa in Latin America and Challenger in Australia. To be powered by a choice of three engines, such as 2.5-liter and 3.2-liter common rail direct injection diesel units and a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline unit, theMitsubishi Pajero Sport is expected to deliver good performance and fuel economy.
The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will come in five- and seven-passenger configurations, but only the five-passenger version with the 3.2-liter diesel will be sold in Russia.
The Pajero Sport is mounted on a new ladder frame to realize high levels of durability and reliability, consistent with the needs of its target markets. The SUV has been built on the car maker’s All Wheel Control philosophy and will use the Super Select 4WD system that will transmit drive torque effectively to all four wheels on all types of surface.
Mitsubishi has chosen the Moscow auto show as the preferred venue for the launch as Russia’s forms a huge Mitsubishi market. During the 2007 fiscal, the car maker had sold as many as 1,00,000 vehicles in the Russian market, mostly the Lancer versions and other SUVs.
