In the nearly 40 years since the first-generation S30 model debuted in 1969, the Fairlady Z has earned a reputation as one of the most desirable sports cars in the world, with approximately 1.7 million units in global sales to date.

Said to be a sports car with enhanced performance characteristics, the Fairlady Z comes with a shorter wheelbase and reduced weight. Powered by a VQ37VHR 3.7-liter V6 engine, it also offers the world’s first 6-speed manual transmission with synchronized rev control or a newly developed 7-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode.

Automotive reviews said that the car has been designed for high performance, and high value. Designers have incorporated dramatic advances in dynamic performance and perceived quality in the Fairlady Z, thereby bringing about a sense of newness.

The car comes with an interior that blends sports car functionality with superior quality. Added to this are the safety features and environmental performance. The Fairlady Z comes equipped with a long list of standard safety features, including Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), high-strength, safe zone body construction, body construction for mitigating pedestrian injuries, dual SRS air bag systems for driver and passenger, SRS side air bag systems for driver and passenger, SRS curtain air bag systems, active head restraints, seatbelts with a pretensioner and load limiterand also low-friction seatbelts in both seats.

Fewer emissions than the levels mandated by Japan’s 2005 exhaust emission regulations makes the car a potential hit with green crusaders. The car also offers a reduction of interior volatile organic compounds.

Nissan is said to be targeting sales of at least 500 units per month. Sporting a price tag in the range: of 3,622,500 yen to 4,462,500 yen, the car is expected to charm car enthusiasts in Japan.
