Alfa Romeo has designed its new MiTo, incorporating all the good-looking, sporty features that are associated with the car maker. Alfa Romeo is said to be lining up the MiTo as an ultimate style icon among hatchbacks.

The MiTo name is evolved from the names of the cities Milan, where it was designed, and Turin, where it was built.
The left hand drive version of the Alfa Romeo MiTo will be available in June 2008, while the right had drive version for UK and other countries will be available by the end of the year.

The MiTo is powered by an economical 90 bhp diesel unit, while a petrol variant with a 1.4 litre engine also would be available – that will be the more powerful one, but there are no horsepower figures available at this time. There will be four engine variants overall, and the top end one will likely offer 155 bhp; the expected name of that car would be the GTA.
The MiTo is a beautiful 3 door hatchback alright, as you can see from the pictures here. The design of the Alfa MiTo hatchback refers directly to the 8C Competizione. The Competizione is celebrated as Alfa Romeo’s icon of style and technology. The MiTo comes with similar traits and heavily borrows from Competizione in its features.

The MiTo will feature three driving modes – Natural, Dynamic and All-Weather – which will be a first in a car of this size.
The headlight and tail-light surrounds of the MiTo represent a distinctive personalised feature with a frame featuring different forms of material processing and colours to create an ultra-stylish eye-liner effect that underscores the cars style and aggression.
The three door Alfa Romeo MiTo, which comes with three doors, is strictly compact and is designed to guarantee maximum driving efficiency. The car is just 4.06 metres long, 1.44 m high and 1.72 metres wide, exudes a style statement with sculpted and skilfully moulded surfaces. The big wheels and powerful musculature of the rear wings emphasise the model’s personality and strength without detracting from the lines that flow smoothly, almost as though to underscore the formal good looks of the individual exterior details.
With slender and dynamic looks, the car sports a rear with racing-style lights and a bumper hat dons a large extractor that is highly three-dimensional enhancing the car’s stunner looks.
Alfa Romeo has said that customers who want to customise the car they buy can order a black painted roof or even choose from 14 different finishes for the headlight and tail-light frames .
The interior of the Alfa Romeo MiTo to is sporty and stylish and also offers the best driving comfrt. A good distance ratio between pedal, seat, steering wheel and gearlever is offered. Alfa Romeo expects that the MiTo will boost its sales volumes in the United Kingdom.
