We were a bit late with covering the launch of the new Lamborghini – the Lamborghini Murcielago SV.

SV stands for Super Veloce, or Super Fast. Like Lamborghinis are normally slowcoaches.
Anyway, lets see what the SV has got for us. As always, we focus on pics – and here you have our Lamborghini Murcielago Photo Gallery. Enjoy.

The Murcielago SV has a claimed top speed of 212 mph, and a 0-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds. The four wheel drive Murcielago SV has a max torque of 487 lb-feet at 8000 rpm. Car and Driver magazine has said that the 0-60 times are lower than only the Bugatti Veyron’s 2.5 second figures.

The full name of the supercar is Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 Super Veloce. That 670 in the name is the amount of horsepower the car produces, that is 30 bhp more than the standard Murcielago (some reports say the max bhp is 661). The engine has undergone some serious modifications to get that. The standard Murcielago SV comes with a sequential e.gear system, but buyers have the option of a 6-speed manual if they so wish.

As you can see from the photo gallery here, there are a few changes to the Murcielago’s nose. The bonnet is longer by 2.16 inches, there are larger air intakes, a carbon fiber splitter for better aerodynamics and downforce and a polycarbonate engine cover to aid in cooling. Lamborghini has also done some work on the rear of the Murcielago, there is what Lamborghini calls an optional ‘Aeropack Wing’ or an option of a standard wing, LED tail lights… All the weight-loss efforts result in the Lamborghini Murcielago SV weighing 340 pounds (approx) less than the Murcielago.

So far, the company has not announced the price of the Lamborghini Murcielago SV, or actual date of sales opening.

There will be 350 units of the Lamborghini Murcielago SV supercars avilable for sale. This is the last version of the Murcielago, and there won’t be any more of them. End of the series, so to speak. The estimated street price is 235,000 pounds according to some guys good at guessing the price of supercars – we will know soon. For now, enjoy the Lamborghini Murcielago SV photo gallery we have for you here.
