Jeep on top among 4×4s in UK

Among the 4×4s in Britain, Jeep is on top. The British 4×4 Magazine, which reviewed as many as 67 vehicles for its ‘4×4 Of The Year’ awards, picked Jeep as winner in three categories.

The 4×4 market in UK, which is already crowded with a slew of vehicles in this category on the roads, is still ruled by Jeep, the study seemed to confirm. Jeep in fact has consolidated its reign in three key segments such as budget, mid-size and extreme, with its models Patriot, Cherokee and Wrangler. Points were awarded in 10 buying areas such as on-road, off-road, comfort, safety, economy, loading, interior, styling, towing and value-for-money. 

Proving beyond doubt that the brand has something for everyone, the Jeep off-road vehicles have been picked as the most loved 4×4s in the UK with this review. While choosing the Jeep Patriot as winner of the Budget 4×4 of the Year, the magazine has cemented the fact that the Patriot is indeed a big one for the company. Further, the judges have opined that in today’s green and cost-conscious climate, the Patriot opens up the Jeep legend to a wider audience. This has been made possible with a VW-sourced 2.0-litre turbodiesel that stretches fuel economy to over 42mpg.

Meanwhile, with the Jeep Cherokee having been chosen as the winner of the Mid-size 4×4 category, Jeep has begun its ascent to a higher level. The vehcle comes with a spruced up interior that is spacious and made brilliant with smarter materials and comfier seats. The boot space gives more room for added stuff to be loaded. The vehicle comes with a 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine, smooth six-manual and auto shifters, and a revised suspension set-up that offers a better on-road drive. These apart, the Selec Trac II adaptive 4WD system with low range and hill descent control makes it a good buy. 

The Jeep Wrangler, who is the winner of Extreme 4×4 group, is a model that has taken off from the original 4×4. Made for extreme drives, the model comes with a 2.8-litre diesel engine .Comfy and spacious interiors make it more charming.
